Each of Us Has Value
I recently was on a plane to Washington D.C and as we were were landing the man next to me inquired “Why are you coming to DC?. My answer was quite simple and honest, to speak about changing the Face of Dementia.
He shared with me that his father with Alzheimer’s went missing from his Maryland home for 2 years. He was later found 50 yards from his house.
The police had searched for his father for only 2 days. What struck me was that if his father was a child, they would have searched for weeks and months on end, with Amber alerts.
This weekend my 22 years old son was gone for 48 hours. In a panic, I remembered this story and wondered what if they would not search for him?
This man’s father was important just like like my son.
Understanding is key.
